the 4 period of prostate cancer stage
Detailed analysis for prostate cancer stage is as follows:
(1) A period of illness: for this prostate cancer stage the lesions were completely confined to inside of the prostate, no local or distant spread in clinical practice is not easy to detect. Only with pathology by autopsy, removal of benign prostatic hyperplasia specimens or biopsy specimens of the examination to diagnose it. Limited and well-differentiated tumor cells, growth relatively is slow ,DRE checks can not be touched nodules, no transfer of clinical disease, this period accounts for about 9% of prostate cancer. Forward-looking and retrospective studies have shown that A period is generally with good prognosis, most patients can be controlled out of clinical cancer or hidden cancer.
(2) B phase lesions: B phase lesions is confined to the prostate capsule, mostly in the digital rectal examination process, a single nodule of the prostate is founded, there is no signs of distant metastasis.,and have to use the histological examination of prostate needle biopsy confirmed. B phase in the development of prostate cancer is the short period of time, so fewer cases of clinical findings, accounting for about 11% of prostate cancer.
(3) C period of the disease: The lesions beyond the prostate capsule, seminal vesicle invasion, and neighboring tissues and organs, but no evidence of distant metastasis. C prostate cancer, and about 60% of untreated patients are sicker in five years, 10 years, half of the shift, 75% died of prostate cancer. This period accounts for about 44% of prostate cancer.
(4) D period of the disease: The lesions beyond the prostate, and a distant metastasis, D stage patients with poor prognosis, mostly in the diagnosis of cancer after three years, died of distant metastasis. This period accounts for about 36%.
Different stages of prostate cancer, treatment methods are not the same. For the A, B in patients, due to the basic lesions confined to the prostate, it can be fought as soon as possible after radical prostatectomy; and C, D phase has been outside and distant metastasis of prostate patients, can only palliative resection of prostate, combined with endocrine therapy and chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
